Campbell-Rey is a creative consultancy and design partnership founded by Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey.
Working fluently across the fields of creative direction, branding, curation and design, Campbell-Rey’s practice is united by a grounding in culture, a sense of irreverence and a playful, elegant aesthetic.
Together they have undertaken commissions for some of the worlds most innovative and desirable brands.
Launched in March 2017, KITRI is an online womenswear brand, bridging the gap between fast fashion and contemporary labels with well-made, distinctive designs at an accessible price point. In September 2017 we were commissioned to design the brand’s first physical space over two floors in London’s Marylebone.
The pop-up is designed to house the brand’s collections and in-store exclusives, as well as creating a space where customers will have a chance to try out and vote for styles not yet in production. Upstairs has a lighter, more playful feel, which is reflected in the clothing for sale there, whilst downstairs is more evening-focused, both in terms of the design and the product.
Aiming to create a transportive experience, both floors of the store feature nuanced powder pink walls with burgundy accents and striking geometric contrasts that lend an air of eclectic confection to the space. A custom metallic hexagonal plinth system and a set of custom pill-shaped lacquered mirrors add a layer of reflective gloss to the store, while key pieces of mid-century furniture including a Ruud Jan Kokke slatted armchair, an architectural desk by Cees Braakman and an Alvar Aalto chair were chosen from Béton Brut, a London design gallery.
We also created a special pink and red edition of our Thierry side table, originally launched at the Salone del Mobile in April 2017, in Rosso Levanto and Rose Aurora marble for the space, as well as a marble and onyx vide-poche in the same colourway.
