MATE is the museum and arts foundation established by photographer Mario Testino to house a permanent collection of his work, alongside a rotating schedule of exhibitions from international and Peruvian artists. In collaboration with Testino, Campbell-Rey conceived and curated Legends in Light, an exhibition showcasing 20 works by legendary Hollywood photographer George Hurrell.
George Hurrell is considered a master of studio portraiture and his photographs have come to define the glamour and elegance of the Golden Age of Hollywood. With a prolific career that began in the late 1920s, Hurrell immortalised the most iconic stars of the era including Clark Gable, Joan Crawford, Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn, securing their legacy as gods and goddesses of the silver screen. The exhibition is the first in the Los Maestros de la Fotografia series, celebrating the greatest photographers of the 20th century at MATE.
