About Campbell Rey

Campbell-Rey is an award-winning design partnership and creative consultancy founded by Duncan Campbell and Charlotte Rey. Working fluently between residential and commercial interior design, creative direction, furniture and product design, their colourful work is a celebration of craftsmanship and conviviality, combined with a spirit of irreverence and a love of materials.

Born in Edinburgh, Duncan read Law at King’s College London and Charlotte, originally from southern Sweden, studied Fashion History and Theory at Central Saint Martins. They began their career together at Acne Studios’ cult publication Acne Paper where they met in 2007, eventually becoming co-editors.

They launched Campbell-Rey in 2014 as a creative consultancy specialising in storytelling for legacy and lifestyle brands, among them Bentley, Bulgari, Baccarat, Penfolds and Veuve Clicquot. Through this work, they became increasingly drawn to the physical space, product design, architecture, and interiors, and began working on design commissions for commercial clients including the London Edition, 1stdibs, Clos19, Kartell, Christie’s, Kitri, Away, Agnona and the Elton John AIDS Foundation in addition to a number of private clients.

In 2019, Campbell-Rey won Newcomer to Watch at the Homes & Gardens Design Awards as well as being included in Country & Townhouse magazine’s Top 50 Interior Designers, Architectural Digest Germany’s Top 200 Influencers and The Gentleman’s Journal’s London’s 50 Most Influential Tastemakers.

Their playful, elegant aesthetic has garnered acclaim from some of the world’s leading publications including Architectural Digest (US, Germany & France), The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, FT Weekend, The World of Interiors, American, British and Turkish Vogue, Vogue Living, House & Garden, Elle Decoration (UK, Sweden & France), Corriere Della Serra and Telegraph Luxury.

Pomellato’s jewellery merges Italian craftsmanship with audacious design. Celebrating the maison’s fiftieth anniversary, the book explores the links between Pomellato’s jewels and the highlights of 1967 – the year of the firm’s founding – and beyond. Through iconic images captured by Horst P. Horst, Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, and more, Pomellato: Since 1967 relates the cultural, technological, and artistic revolutions of the 1960s and onward.

From the Vespa to the Summer of Love, and Andy Warhol to Twiggy, the book confronts the great cultural moments of the 1960s, interspersed with beautiful shots of Pomellato’s jewellery. Campbell-Rey worked closely with the Pomellato team to delve deep into their 50-year archive, creating playful and irreverent interactions between their jewellery designs and some of the most memorable cultural moments of the 1960s. The resulting coffee table book is a carefully crafted testimony to the heritage of the famous Italian jeweller.
