Rocco Forte Hotels is a group of ten multi-award winning hotels situated in landmark buildings around the world. Among them is the Hotel Savoy, one of Florence’s best loved hotels, located in the Piazza della Repubblica in the heart of the city.
The group approached Campbell-Rey to design a logotype for the relaunch of the hotel’s restaurant, named after the Forte family’s grandmother, Irene. With a renewed focus on seasonality and light Mediterranean cooking, the logo was inspired by classic Italian shop signage, and was painted by hand before being further refined. It was adapted for application on the restaurant’s signage and collateral including menus, glassware and aprons.
